Battle of the family SUVs: Hyundai Palisade vs Kia Telluride
Edmunds says the Palisade has a richer cabin and a lower-priced hybrid, while the Telluride is quicker and slightly cheaper to start.
Edmunds recommends the redesigned 2026 Hyundai Palisade over the 2027 Kia Telluride, citing its "richer luxury feel" and more affordable hybrid. The Palisade edges its rival for superior daily utility and no-compromises luxury.
Hyundai and Kia recently updated these popular three-row SUVs with full redesigns. The Palisade features soft curves and midcentury modern design, while the Telluride maintains a linear, angular theme.
Optional hybrid powertrains produce 329 horsepower in both models, with the Telluride Hybrid achieving an EPA-estimated 35 mpg and the Palisade Hybrid reaching 34 mpg. Standard engines differ: the Telluride uses a 274-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder; the Palisade, a 287-horsepower V6.
The Palisade Hybrid starts at $41,035, undercutting the Telluride Hybrid at $40,735 plus a $7,300 premium. Edmunds testing found the Palisade's power-sliding third row accommodated luggage easily, while the Telluride struggled with cargo obstruction.
Both SUVs feature dual 12.3-inch displays and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, though the Telluride adds two standard wireless chargers. They share a five-year bumper-to-bumper warranty and an eight-year powertrain warranty.
