Batroun women run for municipal elections: 10 candidates thanks to a legal amendment allowing married women to run in their hometowns.

Nominations for municipal council membership in Batroun District showed the candidacy of 10 married women who are running outside their hometowns, i.e. in their hometowns. This is based on the amendment of Article 25 of Law 61/2017 pursuant to Law 324/2024, which allowed married women to run for municipal council membership in their hometown or in their husband's hometown.
