Bradley Barcola joins Liverpool in £123m move from Paris Saint-Germain
Liverpool have completed the signing of France forward Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for a fee worth up to £123m. He signed a five-year contract, becoming the Reds' fifth new arrival this summer.
After summer-long talks with PSG, Liverpool will pay an initial £106m plus £17m in add-ons. Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon and sporting director Richard Hughes oversaw the deal.
"It took a long time but I'm really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool," Barcola said. The winger, who turns 24 this Wednesday, identified the Reds as his dream destination.
Head coach Andoni Iraola could hand Barcola his debut at Ipswich Town on Friday evening. The Frenchman adds pace and power following Mohamed Salah's end-of-season departure.
Barcola becomes the second most expensive signing at Anfield behind £125m Alexander Isak. He will wear the No.29 shirt, chosen in honour of the 'Alex Hunter' character from the FIFA gaming franchise.
