Preparations for the by-election in the Bankipur assembly seat have begun. A mock poll of EVMs and VVPATs was conducted on Saturday in the presence of political parties. Prior to this, ECIL engineers inspected the machines at a warehouse in Phulwari block. These included 844 BUs, 844 CUs, and 844 VVPATs. All machines are M-3 models.
