Lieutenant General (Retired) M Harun Ar Rashid was the Army Chief of Bangladesh between 2000 and 2002. He had come to Chittagong to attend the court hearing of a scam case related to a company named Destiny Group. His body was sent to the Combined Military Hospital.

Dhaka: Bangladesh's former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General (Retd.) M Harun-ur-Rashid was found dead at the Chittagong Club premises on Monday. A decorated soldier, a 1971 war hero and a harsh critic of Pakistan, he was 77.
