Ball Diego Maradona used to score ‘Hand of God’ goal for sale
Diego Maradona's soccer ball from the 1986 World Cup, used in the 'Hand of God' and 'goal of the century' goals, is expected to sell for over $2 million at auction.
In the 'Hand of God' goal, Maradona punched the ball with his left hand over goalkeeper Peter Shilton, making the score 1-0.
Maradona's second goal involved dribbling past five players before sliding the ball into an open net, later called the goal of the century.
The black-and-white Adidas ball has been authenticated by two independent services and was first auctioned in 2022.
