66-Year-Old Balakrishna Sustains Injury While Shooting Action Sequence on NBK 111 Set; Jr NTR Sends Love to ‘Babai’
Doctors said Balakrishna’s knee injury is minor and he may need a routine surgical procedure before returning to the set.
On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna suffered a muscle tear after slipping during an action sequence for NBK111 at the Kakinada deep-sea port.
The accident occurred during an intense action sequence, prompting the crew to briefly suspend production as the film unit rushed Balakrishna to a private hospital in Kakinada.
Doctors confirmed the injury is minor but advised a routine surgical procedure, with NBK111 makers stating, "The procedure is routine and there is absolutely no cause for concern."
Following the news, actor Jr NTR wrote on X, "Get well soon Bala Babai," wishing his uncle a "speedy recovery" and looking forward to seeing him "roar back."
Production is expected to resume once Balakrishna receives medical clearance for the film, which reunites the star with director Gopichand Malineni and features Manchu Manoj and Kajal Aggarwal.
