Aztec Minerals Corp. (TSXV:AZT) - First Assays from Core Drilling Confirm Skarn, Vector to CRD - Research Portal

Summary
Aztec (AZT) reported assays from 11 RC holes, plus the first four core-holes, from its 85%-owned Tombstone Ag-Au project in Arizona. The ~22,000m program is targeting shallow Ag-Au oxide and deeper CRD sulfide mineralization. The standout result from this batch of assays was TR26-30 which returned 0.86 g/t Au and 24.5 g/t Ag over 198m and is the best hole Aztec has drilled at Tombstone to date; it more than doubles the demonstrated depth of the Contention zone. However, the more important read through for Aztec, is from the deeper core drilling, for which we now have assays. While these core holes did intersect mineralization (after encountering difficult drilling conditions with a few of the holes caving before reaching the target depth), the grades were low. Even though these assays did not deliver economic intercepts, they are geologically encouraging and warrant further drilling to prove a discovery.
