Aztec Minerals Corp. (TSXV:AZT) - Step-Outs Extend Contention Pit to Over 1,250m Strike - Research Portal
Aztec (AZT) reported assays from five RC holes from the North Extension zone at its 85%-owned Tombstone Ag-Au project in Arizona. These results are part of the ~22,000m drill program targeting shallow Ag-Au oxide and deeper CRD sulfide mineralization. Four of the five holes were step-outs, and all five hit oxide Au-Ag mineralization, extending the Contention system 255m further to the north, to over 1,250m of continuous strike. In our view, these results confirm continuity of the Contention system to the north with assays also returning some of the strongest Au grades seen at the project to date. In combination with the first two holes drilled in this zone, we believe this is the most significant development at Tombstone since the original Contention system drill-out, notably on ground that’s only been consolidated over the past ~18 months. We look forward to seeing the maiden MRE for Tombstone, which we view as a genuine re-rating catalyst in Q4/26.
