AY Breaks Silence on Cardiff Show Disruption, Calls for Ticket Refunds
AY Makun said ticket buyers deserve refunds after organizers failed to settle a payment dispute and the show never properly got underway.
- The Cardiff tour stop of "AY Live: Single and Not Searching" was disrupted on Sunday after a payment dispute between performers and organizers left fans waiting for hours without seeing comedian Ayo Makun perform.
- Ayo Makun, Apororo, and Monika arrived at Valegate Retail Park ready to perform, but withheld the show because organizers failed to settle outstanding financial commitments owed since September.
- Enoch Adekoya of Koya Group intervened around 10 p.m. to resolve the dispute, but by then most attendees had already left the venue, leaving the hall largely empty.
- On Monday, Ayo Makun issued a public apology via Instagram to disappointed attendees, stating "You fulfilled your commitment, and you deserve better." He promised ticket refunds.
- Makun said he would review the incident with his team and potentially report to police, while affirming willingness to return to Cardiff under reliable future conditions with proper arrangements.
