Avolon Orders 250 Airbus and Boeing Planes
The deal includes 140 Boeing 737 MAX jets and 110 Airbus aircraft, and Avolon said it can add 100 more Airbus planes.
On Friday, Dublin-based Avolon confirmed a firm order for 110 Airbus aircraft, comprising 35 A330-900 widebodies and 75 A320neo Family jets, marking a major fleet expansion.
Global leasing giant Avolon simultaneously agreed to order 140 Boeing aircraft, bringing its total on-order fleet to 749 planes, supplementing the 561 aircraft it currently owns.
Avolon CEO Andy Cronin noted strong demand for new-technology aircraft, stating these orders "enhance our ability to support the future fleet requirements of our airline customers."
The agreement includes an option to purchase 100 additional unspecified Airbus jets, subject to approval by China's Bohai Leasing Ltd expected by the end of this month.
Avolon reinforces its market position as the leading lessor for the A330-900, having purchased 114 of the type, while its total A320neo Family order book has risen to 650.
