CSL Appoints Deborah Waterhouse as CEO & Managing Director
The board said Waterhouse brings more than 25 years of global specialty-pharma experience as CSL faces pressure after recent impairments and leadership changes.
On Wednesday, CSL Limited appointed GSK executive Deborah Waterhouse as chief executive and managing director, effective February 1, 2027, following an extensive global search.
The appointment follows investor pressure at CSL after the company announced plans to cut 3,000 jobs and postponed the spin-off of its Seqirus vaccines business.
Waterhouse brings over 25 years of global leadership experience in specialty pharmaceuticals, currently serving as CEO of ViiV Healthcare with a £1,500,000 base salary.
Interim CEO Gordon Naylor will continue in his position until February 1, 2027, then resume his role on the CSL board as a non-executive director.
Waterhouse intends to spend significant time in Australia and the United States, aiming to "evolve the path into reliable growth for patients and shareholders.
