Audit: Cities, counties in California can improve cannabis-permitting process

Cities and counties in the state can do more to improve the process when someone applies for a permit to open a new cannabis business in the area, according to a report the California State Auditor released Thursday. The audit examined six jurisdictions: Sacramento, South Lake Tahoe, Fresno, Monterey County, San Diego and Santa Barbara County. It looked at whether they used a blind scoring process while evaluating cannabis business applications.
