Athletic Bilbao players wear shirts with last names of their mothers in Spanish league game
Athletic Bilbao’s players wore shirts bearing the last names of their mothers during a game on Saturday as the club honored Mother’s Day in Spain.
The Athletic Club will celebrate Mother's Day this Saturday in the match that will be played from 6.30 p.m. before the Deportivo Alavés in Menzizorroza. According to the Vizcaíno club, "the lions will jump on the grass with the surname of their 'amatxus' in the T-shirts, in recognition of their figure and the fundamental role they have had in their lives."
The derby that they fought in the rainy afternoon of this Saturday the Alavés and the Athletic will be engraved by the detail carried out by the red-white ensemble. Hours before it is celebrated this Sunday the day of the mother, the Bilbaino club made the decision, as they already did in May 2013 in a meeting before the Celta de Vigo in Balaídos, that their players carry their second surname in the shirt.
