The judge-Rapporteur of the Criminal Guarantees Tribunal of the Judicial Unit for the Prosecution of Crimes Related to Corruption and Organized Crime Jorge Sánchez Pico gave way to the request of the mayor of Guayaquil, Achilles Alvarez, so that his lawyers and his wife, Fiorella Icaza, can accompany him during the days of the trial hearing of the so-called Triple A case.

The preparatory hearing for the trial was scheduled for Thursday, July 16, for the crime of money laundering against the mayor of Guayaquil, Achilles Alvarez and 24 more defendants.
