The number of asylum applications in Austria has declined significantly over the past two years. However, the gender ratio has also changed since last year. While less than a quarter of applications were submitted by women in 2023, this figure rose to just over 42 percent in 2024 and to more than 41 percent in the first eleven months of this year.
