ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces ROG XBOX Ally X20 and X20 Bundle Are Now Available in Canada | Taiwan News | Oct. 15, 2026 21:00
- On Thursday, October 15, 2026, Asus launched the ROG Xbox Ally X20, a handheld gaming PC featuring a 7.4-inch OLED screen and translucent black design celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Gamers.
- Underneath the new aesthetic, the Ally X20 retains the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD from last year's Ally X, prioritizing consistent performance over generational leaps.
- The main upgrade is the 7.4-inch OLED display supporting HDR peaks of up to 1,400 nits. While weighing 756 grams, the device features rubberized grips and an eight-directional transforming D-pad for improved handling.
- Priced at $1,300, the X20 commands a $300 premium over the Ally X. Reviewers note it's a "Goldilocks option" for those avoiding $2,000 Windows 11 handhelds, though expensive for existing owners.
- Running Windows 11, the handheld integrates with the Xbox app for a console-like experience. The device caters to Game Pass subscribers but faces stiff competition from the Steam Deck OLED in portable gaming.
