The U.S.-Japanese-Russian crew of four rocketed from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. They’ll replace colleagues who launched to the space station in March as fill-ins for NASA’s two stuck astronauts.
The two American astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, the Japanese Kimiya Yui and the Russian Oleg Platonov took off at 1143 local time (1743 hours in Paris) from the Kennedy Space Centre, Florida, aboard the Falcon-9 rocket.
Spacemen have started with SpaceX to the ISS – including a commander, a spaceman and a cosmonaut. After a weather-related delay, the crew will soon undertake research work in space.
