The association Neighborhoods in Lisbon wants the Chamber of Lisbon and the congregations to set up specific points for the deposit of packaging covered by the system Volta next to stationers, ecopoints and oleões. The proposal arises after the authorities have recognized that the demand for packaging with the right to reimbursement of 10 cents is causing problems of urban hygiene
On 10 July, the Lisbon City Hall itself acknowledged that the system, which provides for a refund of 10 cents per package, has had a negative impact on urban hygiene in the city.
These systems - in force in countries such as Germany, Denmark or Norway - are listed, open baskets or closed boxes which can be coupled to existing bins.
The association Neighborhoods in Lisbon proposes to the city council and the city's parish councils to install packing points with "Volta" in paper mills and ecopoints/oils of the city, in order to overcome "urban hygiene problems".
