Asian shares and US futures decline, while oil prices press higher
Oil prices rose for a third day after Houthi attacks and Iran threats deepened supply worries, while S&P 500 futures fell 0.1%, analysts said.
Asian shares and American futures skidded on Tuesday as flaring conflict in the Middle East pushed oil prices higher. Brent crude added 1.4% to $98.40 a barrel amid regional tensions.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 sank 1.7% as major exporters were sold. China reported exports jumped 25% year-on-year in August, while Australia's ASX 200 declined 1% amid regional volatility.
Early Tuesday, the dollar slipped to 153.47 Japanese yen from 154.34 yen. Wall Street prepares for the American Producer Price Index and Consumer Price Index reports this week.
Norihiro Yamaguchi of Oxford Economics warned supply-side-driven inflation will accelerate as firms pass on costs, deteriorating consumers' "purchasing power." Recent data showed the economy grew faster in the April-June quarter than initially reported.
