DOBSON — Ashe County High School sent nine runners to the River Run Cross Country Twilight Invitational held at Fisher River Park in Dobson on Aug. 22. This was the team’s first meet of the season.

The GW cross country team kicked off its fall season on Friday evening in Leesburg, competing against the DMV's best in Georgetown, Johns Hopkins and Maryland on the course alongside GW. The GW women (49) earned third behind Hopkins (42) and Maryland (46) but ahead of Georgetown (99), while the GW men took second (45) in between Georgetown (24) and Johns Hopkins (51).
