On Sunday morning, two Asfinag employees stopped a ghost driver at the Linz knot. The 88-year-old passenger car driver had no orientation. He lost his driver's license.

Two Asfinag employees stopped a wrong-way driver near Ansfelden (Linz-Land district) early Sunday morning. The 88-year-old man from the Amstetten district was driving towards them at 4:40 a.m. at the Linz interchange on the on-ramp to the Mühlkreis Autobahn (A7). "We flashed our headlights and used our blue lights," Asfinag employee Lukas Halbwirth told the APA.

A 88-year-old driver was on the A7 at Ansfelden on the early Sunday morning as a ghost driver. ASFINAG employees were able to stop the man. An 88-year-old from the district of Amstetten steered his car on 8 March 2026 at 4.40 am on the A7 towards the north contrary to the prescribed direction of travel.
