Asda, Aldi, Tesco, and Sainsbury's shoppers warned amid fresh recalls
Shoppers are being told to return affected items as recalls cover glass contamination, phthalates above limits, electric shock risk and undeclared milk.
Retailers Tesco, Aldi, Sainsbury's, and Asda have issued urgent recall notices this week for food, electronics, and clothing following safety alerts from national watchdogs regarding contamination and faulty components.
Safety alerts address products contaminated with glass, faulty handbags containing chemical risks, and hairdryers presenting electric shock hazards; customers are advised to stop using items immediately and return them for full refunds.
Aldi is recalling Ambiano Ionic Hairdryers due to electric shock risks, while Asda recalled handbags that may contain phthalates at levels exceeding regulatory limits; Asda stated they "may pose potential health risks."
Arla Food Ltd recalled Arla Protein Pudding products sold at Tesco and Sainsbury's due to potential glass contamination, while Basic Ingredients Ltd is recalling Emma Basic Curry Cubes Japanese Style for undeclared milk.
When safety issues are uncovered, retailers either withdraw items from shelves or recall them from consumers; a withdrawal removes unsold stock, while a recall requests customer returns for full refunds.
