The 9-meter-high artwork De Tong will definitely not return to the dike along the A6 near Lelystad. The copper sculpture was repeatedly subjected to vandalism, and after various copper thefts, the Province of Flevoland placed it in storage at the end of 2024. A majority in the Provincial Council has now agreed to transfer the sculpture to the heirs of artist Ruud van de Wint, the creator of the statue.
