Heatwave to Hit UK as Parts of the Country Set to Be Hotter than Barcelona
UNITED KINGDOM, JUN 17 – The heatwave will surpass temperatures in southern Europe and trigger health alerts with risks for vulnerable groups, including increased demand on health services, the UK Health Security Agency said.
- Yellow heat health alerts have been issued for most of England as temperatures are expected to reach 32C by Saturday.
- Some areas will experience higher temperatures than popular holiday destinations like Lisbon and Barcelona, which are projected to be 29C.
- The Met Office stated that much of the UK will be in heatwave conditions by the coming weekend.
