‘Apun idharich rahega’: Sanjay Dutt’s PM act takes swipe at Modi's foreign trips, says ‘can’t feel peace’ in India
Dutt slipped into his Munna Bhai persona and said India needs a fourth monkey to challenge wrongdoing and put Gandhi’s ideas first.
During a Gandhi Jayanti special episode of Shekhar Suman's show, actor Sanjay Dutt stepped into the role of Prime Minister for five minutes, immediately adopting his Munna Bhai character's language.
The playful segment emerged as Dutt expressed serious concerns about India's current state. He said he no longer felt the same sense of peace in the country, despite Indians being inherently large-hearted.
Dutt proposed replacing political leaders' photographs in public spaces with Gandhi's image, stating "Desh ko desh ka photo dikhna chahiye." He also critiqued Prime Minister Narendra Modi's prominent use of official photos.
Turning to international affairs, Dutt critiqued President Donald Trump as "Trump Mamu," alleging he was pushing the world "out of frame" through aggressive policies. He advocated for resolving conflicts through dialogue over tea rather than missiles.
Despite expressing concerns about India's lost peace, Dutt emphasized that Indians remain hospitable and large-hearted people. He ended with a prayer to Shivji, hoping "those days come back soon.
