‘Apun idharich rahega’: Sanjay Dutt’s PM act takes swipe at Modi's foreign trips, says ‘can’t feel peace’ in India
The actor invoked Gandhi’s three monkeys and said public life should focus more on the country than on political photographs.
On a Gandhi Jayanti special episode of Shekhar Suman's show, actor Sanjay Dutt imagined himself as Prime Minister for five minutes, immediately adopting his Munna Bhai character to address the nation.
Before the playful segment, Dutt spoke seriously about the state of the nation, stating he no longer feels the same sense of peace in India despite describing its people as lovely.
Dutt joked about replacing official portraits with Gandhi's images and criticized President Donald Trump's international approach, suggesting leaders replace missiles with flowers and resolve conflicts over tea.
The actor pointed to the responsibility of leading India, humorously referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign trips while advocating for a 'fourth monkey' to Gandhi's philosophy to correct perceived wrongs.
Ending the segment, Dutt offered a prayer to Shivji, hoping for a return of peaceful days soon, while confirming he remains focused on upcoming projects including Baap and Khalnayak Returns.
