iPhone 18 Pro Event Tipped As Apple Shifts Key Release Schedule Date
Mark Gurman says Apple may delay iPhone 18 Pro preorders because Sept. 11 falls on the usual Friday start date.
Apple will announce the new Pro model on Wednesday, Sept. 9, following the company's traditional September schedule for its major annual product event.
Labor Day falls on Sept. 7, prompting Apple to avoid holding the keynote immediately after the weekend to ensure attendees have travel time for the event.
Analyst Mark Gurman noted that pre-orders will likely shift to Sept. 12 to avoid the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, as Apple historically avoids scheduling major announcements on that date.
Following pre-orders, the new software cycle will release on Sept. 14, with updates becoming available as early as 8 a.m. Pacific time for immediate download.
On Sept. 18, the new Pro devices are expected to hit store shelves, aligning with Apple's established release pattern for its flagship product launches.
It has been rumored for some time that Apple would update its launch dates with the iPhone 18s. It was reported that they would follow a strategy of introducing some iPhones at the September event and others in early next year.
