Air France-KLM CEO Ben Smith also said he is strongly committed to securing the acquisition of the Portuguese airline TAP.
As part of the Paris Air Forum organized by La Tribune and Air&Cosmos, the managing director of Air France-KLM, Benjamin Smith, adopted an offensive tone regarding the two ongoing dossiers of SAS and TAP Air Portugal. He also referred to competition with the Gulf companies, at a time when the conflict in Iran weighs heavily on the accounts of the global companies.
Consolidation of the aviation sector in Europe is in the air, but a possible interest of Air France-KLM in easyJet, through a partnership with the US fund Castlelake, does not distance the Franco-Dutch group from the race to privatization of TAP, whose interest remains "strong", the group has advanced to Expresso
