- Bidders pushed the lot through an 11‑minute contest among six collectors, with the winning bid from an unnamed phone buyer, Sotheby's reported.
- Proceeds from these sales are directed toward charitable causes tied to Birkin's legacy, with Gabrielle Crawford selling one of four handbags to fund the future Jane Birkin Foundation, Drouot said.
- The market's appetite remains intense after a July prototype sold for 8.58 million euros, and a third Hermes bag owned by Birkin will be auctioned on December 15 at Hotel Drouot, Paris.
