On Sunday morning, an avalanche in the Aosta Valley in northwestern Italy burys several skiers among themselves. Two men die on the day of the accident. Even a 35-year-old Frenchman cannot be saved.
An avalanche accident in the Italian Alps cost three French skiers their lives. The group was away from the slopes, although the avalanche risk was considered low.
At least two skiers have died in another avalanche in the Alps. In Italy's Aosta Valley, mountain rescue teams could only recover one man's body from the snow. Another died shortly afterward. A third skier was airlifted to a hospital in Turin in critical condition. A fatal avalanche also occurred over the weekend in the High Tatras, the mountain range on the border between Slovakia and Poland.
Another avalanche devastated the Italian Alps, killing several people - Some were only able to be dug out of the snow when they were dead.
