A company anniversary party in Nijverdal ended Saturday afternoon with blaring fire sirens, large black clouds of smoke over the N35, and a massive fire in a cornfield.
Late Saturday afternoon, the company Niverplast came up with a rather peculiar way to clean up the remains of an anniversary activity. The fire department had to be called in at a moment's notice. The fire department and police were not amused by the cleanup operation.
