AEW Wrestler Andy Williams Dies at 48 After Collapsing During Match
Professional wrestler Andy Williams, known as The Butcher, died at age 48 after collapsing during an Enjoy Wrestling event Saturday night in Millvale, Pennsylvania. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed his death Sunday morning.
During the Five-Year Anniversary show's main event, Williams collapsed near the end of his tag team match against TME. On-site medical staff administered CPR and utilized a defibrillator before paramedics transported him to Allegheny General Hospital.
Beyond wrestling, Williams was an accomplished musician who played rhythm guitar for the heavy metal band Every Time I Die for more than 20 years. He was also active in 2026 with his metalcore group, Atomic Rule.
Williams spent seven years as one half of The Butcher and The Blade in All Elite Wrestling after signing in 2019. The team departed the company in June after being sparingly used during their final 18 months.
Takedown on SI expressed condolences to his family and friends, while former bandmate Jordan Buckley requested prayers on social media. Enjoy Wrestling thanked those who assisted during the emergency.
