Former NFL Wide Receiver Andre Rison Temporarily Jailed on DUI Charge
Andre Rison was sentenced to five days in jail and 18 months of probation after pleading guilty to a second-offense DUI charge.
Former NFL receiver Andre Rison, 59, spent the weekend in jail after pleading guilty to a second-offense DUI charge, booked into Oakland County Jail shortly after 8 p.m. ET Friday and released around 1:30 a.m. ET Sunday.
Police arrested Rison in Troy, Michigan, on Aug. 23, 2025, on charges including operating while intoxicated; a second charge of open intoxicant in a motor vehicle was dismissed.
At sentencing, Rison received a five-day jail term and 18 months of probation after posting a $5,000 bond, with court records showing he owes $2,300 in fines and fees.
The 12-year veteran accumulated 10,205 receiving yards and 84 touchdowns during his career, spending five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons where he earned four Pro Bowl selections.
Late in his playing career, Rison caught Brett Favre's first touchdown pass in Super Bowl XXXI with the Green Bay Packers after the 1996 season.
