Analilia Mejia wins Democratic nomination for U.S. House in New Jersey's 11th Congressional District

On Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Analilia Mejia secured the Democratic nomination for New Jersey's 11th Congressional District, receiving 14,015 votes, or 83.2% of the total.
Mejia defeated three Democratic challengers in the primary race, with Donald Cresitello receiving 995 votes, Justin Strickland garnering 945, and Joseph Lewis securing 882.
As the incumbent, Mejia recently won a special election to fill the remainder of Mikie Sherrill's unexpired term, establishing her position entering this primary.
Republican Joe Hathaway secured his party's nomination unopposed, setting a November 3 general election rematch against Mejia in the 11th District.
The Associated Press called the race at 8:14 p.m. on Tuesday with 26 percent of votes counted, confirming the candidates for the November 3 general election.
