The total number of areas under deforestation alert in the Amazon between August 2025 and May 2026 fell 37.5% compared to the previous cycle (August 2024 to May 2025). The value of 2,189 km2 represents the lowest in the historical series, started in 2016, for the period. The fall in the Cerrado, on the other hand, was 8.2%. There were 4,208 km2 of the biome impacted by the suppression of vegetation.
