Amanda Holden takes swipe at 'boring' new Strictly Come Dancing presenters
This month Amanda Holden ruled out hosting Strictly Come Dancing, calling many reported frontrunners 'boring, boring', she said.
Because hosting would clash with Britain's Got Talent, Holden explained she would miss three Saturday nights starting February 21 and cited family and other work commitments.
Asked about replacements, Holden suggested two funny women like Katherine Ryan and Daisy May Cooper during Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast and in a call with Metro, saying 'There are so many women in our industry... who deserve a bloody break'.
Tess Daly, outgoing Strictly presenter, and Claudia Winkleman, outgoing Strictly presenter, announced their exit last year and hosted their final show on December 20, leaving fans stunned; Amanda Holden and Alan Carr, considered candidates, declined the offer.
Given Holden's BGT tenure, the BBC casting team faces long-term scheduling challenges as she refuses to join Strictly unless the schedule changes, joking she 'doesn't fancy staying at a hotel in Inverness airport'.
