Altadena residents upset about multiple homes on lots
A Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors member is upset about state laws allowing multiple homes on single-home lots in a community recovering from the Eaton Fire.
Two state laws, Senate Bill 9 and Senate Bill 1123, are at the center of the concern.
Senate Bill 9 ends single-family zoning and requires local governments to approve duplexes and lot splits, enabling up to four units per lot.
Senate Bill 1123 allows fast-tracked building of up to ten homes on vacant lots, prompting a proposed new bill, SB 1090, to address these issues.
