- Director-General Tosin Ajayi met with his legal directorate on August 20 to discuss pausing the case, deciding the suspension ensures fair participation for Sowore in campaigns after the Independent National Electoral Commission lifted the ban.
- Beginning September 14, 2026, the DSS will formally communicate the adjournment request to the Federal High Court when normal sittings resume following the court's annual judicial vacation.
