Drivers haven't used them for over three years, but only now will they disappear from the A4 motorway landscape. The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has selected a company to remove the toll booths between Gliwice and Wrocław. The work will cost over PLN 7.7 million.
In six months, the 30-year concession agreement with Stalexport will expire. As of March 16, 2027, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) will take over management of the section of the A4 motorway between Katowice and Krakow. This means free passage for passenger cars and motorcycles.
Passenger car drivers will only have to pay to use the A4 motorway until March 15, 2027. After the 30-year concession expires, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) will take over the route, and the toll booths and traffic management around the toll booth will change.
