All Remaining Tour De France Riders Undergo Anti-Doping Blood Tests
On Monday, all remaining riders in the 2026 Tour de France underwent anti-doping blood tests as part of a comprehensive Athlete Biological Passport program, the International Testing Agency said.
The Union Cyclistes International has been pressing the International Testing Agency to find high-profile cheating cases, with tests designed to catch microdosing of testosterone, hGH, and EPO.
Following early-morning tests of Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard on Sunday, teams raised concerns over disrupted sleep and recovery routines during the grueling three-week race.
In a statement on Tuesday confirming reports from French newspaper Liberation, the International Testing Agency said collecting additional samples "strengthens the longitudinal monitoring of each rider's individual profile."
The sport currently faces a period where its delicate six-year equilibrium appears to be wobbling, as cycling's traumatic history with doping creates persistent tension regarding credibility and clean competition.
