The traffic on all five of the Amsterdam subway lines was completely shut down as a result of a large-scale system malfunction. No metros are running in Amsterdam for an hour this Friday afternoon. The metro network has been suspended since approximately noon due to a system error. A reset must be performed for this, during which metros cannot run, says a GVB spokesperson. It is expected that the metros will be able to run again shortly after 1:00 PM.
The malfunction was detected after the failure of one of the trains, and the GVB stated that in order to resume operation of the subway, the transport company needed to reboot the system.
All metros in Amsterdam have been cancelled due to a system error at the GVB. Lines 50, 51, 53, 54 and the North-South Line are out of service. The reset will take another hour.
