Alex Tuch gets winner against former team and Dylan Strome scores twice, as Capitals beat Sabres 4-3
Tuch scored the overtime winner and Buffalo lost its third straight game after blowing an early two-goal lead.
On Saturday, Washington Capitals right wing Alex Tuch scored two goals, including the overtime winner, to lead his team to a 4-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.
Washington acquired Tuch from Buffalo in a sign-and-trade deal this summer, signing him to an eight-year, $84 million contract to bolster the Capitals' offense.
Dylan Strome scored twice for Washington, while Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren made 18 saves and Buffalo goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped 30 shots.
Buffalo has now lost three games in a row, falling despite goals from Jack Quinn, Josh Doan, and Noah Ostlund scoring for the Sabres.
Up next, the Capitals will host the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, while the Sabres travel to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.
