Alabama Softball Home Runs Power Surge to NCAA Super Regional
Vic Moten held USC Upstate scoreless as Alabama hit four home runs and won its 20th Super Regional berth.
On Sunday, the Alabama softball team defeated USC Upstate 9-0 at Rhoads Stadium, securing the Tuscaloosa Regional championship and advancing to the super regionals for an NCAA-record 20th time.
Dominating the regional round, the Crimson Tide did not allow a single run across all weekend games in Tuscaloosa, securing the program's 22nd all-time regional title.
Junior infielder Jena Young led the offense with two home runs and four RBIs, while teammates Audrey Vandagriff and Brooke Wells also homered; pitcher Vic Moten remained nearly untouchable in the circle.
Next weekend, the Crimson Tide will host the super regional round in Tuscaloosa, welcoming the winner of the Baton Rouge Regional between LSU and Virginia Tech.
Marking their 27th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, Alabama continues its program legacy, with head coach Patrick Murphy crediting the team's success to players and the fan base.
