The ruling AK Party has objected to the victory of CHP candidate Cafer Parlak in the Eyüpsultan Municipality deputy mayor election. The party's Istanbul Provincial Chairman, Abdullah Özdemir, stated that one of their candidate's votes was deemed invalid, adding, "We assert that the election was won by our AK Party and Cumhur Alliance candidate, Mr. Muhammet Çakır. We will swiftly initiate our legal battle."
