Aces Beat the Lynx 100-97 to Take the West Lead in the Commissioner’s Cup
A’ja Wilson scored 24 points and Chelsea Gray added two late free throws as Las Vegas won its sixth straight.
On Saturday, the Las Vegas Aces defeated the Minnesota Lynx 100-97, securing the Western Conference lead in the Commissioner's Cup with a perfect 5-0 record.
A'ja Wilson recorded 24 points and 10 rebounds for Las Vegas, offsetting Minnesota rookie Olivia Miles' career-high 29 points in a closely contested matchup between the top two WNBA teams.
The Aces went 7-of-7 from the free-throw line in the final 44.3 seconds to secure the win, while Chelsea Gray added 23 points to extend Las Vegas' winning streak to six games.
Aces Coach Becky Hammon called it 'two really good teams just going blow for blow,' while Gray described the Commissioner's Cup as a 'midseason measuring stick' for championship contention.
With two games remaining, the Aces position themselves for a June 30 championship game where the top Eastern and Western Conference teams will compete for the Commissioner's Cup title.
