IndyCar Rookie of the Year Dennis Hauger Joins AJ Foyt Racing
The 23-year-old Norwegian replaces Santino Ferrucci after winning the 2025 Indy NXT title and bringing sponsor support to a rebuilding Foyt program.
On Wednesday, AJ Foyt Racing announced that 2026 IndyCar Rookie of the Year Dennis Hauger signed a multiyear contract to join the team for the 2027 season, filling the first of two open seats.
After winning Rookie of the Year honors while competing for Dale Coyne Racing in 2026, the 23-year-old Hauger transitions to the team, having previously claimed the 2025 Indy NXT championship title.
The No. Chevrolet entry will be piloted by Hauger, replacing Santino Ferrucci, with technical support from Team Penske and primary sponsorship from Homes For Our Troops.
On October 2, the new lead driver will make his first official appearance at the GM Defense Valor & Velocity Gala in Warren, Michigan, where the Homes For Our Troops entry will be displayed.
With one seat remaining for 2027, the team seeks to rebound after a difficult season; team president Larry Foyt plans to field Indy NXT veteran Josh Pierson, pending his successful completion of IndyCar's licensing evaluation process.
