The 26 people rescued on Monday in the Central Mediterranean by the Basque ship Aita Mari, including 16 minors, including a baby, and a pregnant woman, landed this Wednesday at the port of Civitavecchia (Italy), more than 400 nautical miles from the rescue site.
Among the 26 people are fifteen minors, a newborn and a pregnant woman. Most are safe and are receiving humanitarian aid. Italian authorities have ordered the Aita Mari ship to the port of Civitavecchia in Rome, a two-day journey from the rescue site.
