The prices of holiday packages in the European Union were 3.2% higher in August 2026 than in August 2025, in line with the rate of inflation (3.2%), while fares for passenger air transport fell by 0.4%, staying much below the level of inflation, shows the data published on Friday by the European Statistical Office (Eurostat).
Package deals in the EU rose 3.2 percent in August, while airline tickets fell 0.4 percent. The differences between countries are large.
