DARPA and the U.S. Air Force have successfully flight-tested an F-16 fighter jet controlled by artificial intelligence algorithms. These VENOM tests represent a transition from experimental platforms to operational testing, marking another step toward implementing autonomy in U.S. tactical aviation.
The difference is that Venom transfers that capability to a standard combat aircraft of the Air Force, demonstrating that it is possible to adapt operating platforms without modifying the original software of the F-16.
